What if the electronics failed and you were outside, no other fail-safe (manual key) backup feature to open?

There's a charging port on the outside. So if the batteries run out you can charge the keypad from the outside so you don’t get locked out because of low battery. Yet to your point this does not prevent any system failures of other kind. The optimal solution would be to include a key as well, which this product does not.

Can it be connected to Alexa?

Not sure. I couldn’t get the app to work.

Can it work with Google Home?

It can't work with Google Home.
