Kershaw Folding Knives Editorial Review
The Kershaw Iridium folding pocket knife is made in China and has a grey aluminum handle with a 3.4 inch D2 steel blade and a DuraLock locking mechanism. It has a premium feel, with a smoother axis lock and pivot compared to a Benchmade. The knife is truly ambidextrous and great for left-handers. The ball-bearing system makes opening and closing the knife effortless, and it's much smoother than the Benchmade Griptilian that pivots on bronze washers. The knife feels sturdy but is very light and vanishes into the pocket. The blade is made from mid-range steel, D2, which is good for edge retention, flexibility, and durability but will pit and rust more easily than other budget steels like 8cr13mov. The design is unique, beautiful, and made with premium materials. The only real complaint is that the spine looks thin compared to other Kershaw knives. Overall, this is a great knife with excellent build quality and well worth the price.
