- Question : How do you clean the filter?Answer : Simply shake or swish the EZ-Clean Membrane in the water and be on your way.

- Question : Does this filter out crypto?Answer : Yes, the Befree will filter out Cryptosporidium. The filter is .2 microns and will remove 99.99% of bacteria, protozoa, E-Coli, Cryptosporidium, and Giardia.
- Question : Can I connect this to a clean bottle to make a gravity system? If so, how?Answer : If you want to attach it to another bottle, you would need to purchase an adapter. It has a standard screw type end which attaches to the stay clean drink nozzle. You could fill the filter flask and hang it using your own cord, then easily fill a clean bottle by placing your clean bottle end over the stay clean drink nozzle and squeezing the flask until the clean bottle is full.
- Question : Is there a version without the strap holder and tube?Answer : Yes, there are two versions: the Befree 3.0L Befree (Item Number: 8019640) and the Befree 3.0L Gravity (item number 8020470). The Gravity version comes with the hose, quick connect cap to connect the hose to the filter, and a carry/hanging strap.
- Question : How often does the filter need replacement?Answer : The lifespan of the filter is about 1000L of water. It needs replacement sooner if cloudy/muddy/silty water is used. Cleaning after each use can extend its lifespan.

It has a lifespan of around 1000L of water, but the lifespan depends on the quality of the water being filtered. The filter can be cleaned after each use to help extend its lifespan. The filter and bag are included with the purchase, and the product is not designed for use in third-world nations.
