- Question : Does this replace the Atwood 36636?Answer : Yes.
- Question : What were the manufacture date on these devices?Answer : They are good for 10 years (due to the rechargeable battery built inside) if they are new. AFAIK, the life is only powered life not calendar life. My new unit was manufactured before 2023. Mine came from the manufacturer per the return address.
- Question : Can I splice wires from wires coming from fuse box (inaccessible) to wires in this unit?Answer : Yes.
- Question : Does this replace the Atwood 31011?Answer : Yes, I replaced my 31011 with this one. It still says Atwood but is sold by Dometic, which I believe owns Atwood.
- Question : Is it wired or battery powered? The description says on-board power but the picture shows wires coming out of the back of the unit.Answer : On board in the sense that the power comes from your RV power. I got one of these to replace an existing unit which had aged out. Installation was simple simply copy the wiring that I found. The instructions also have a wiring diagram.
- Question : The listing states that it's a Dometic with a 10-year lifespan so why are people getting the Atwood with a 7-year lifespan?? It's a bait and switch!Answer : All I can say is ours arrived and it didn’t work at all. Very disappointing.
- Question : Is this the same as the Atwood 31011?Answer : Yes. Dometic purchased Atwood in 2014. If you look at the Technical Details on the listing page, it lists the Item Model Number as 31011.
- Question : I bought this and received an Atwood and even the manual states it's lifetime is 7-years...what gives??Answer : Apparently when unit is installed and voltage is hooked up the internal batteries 7 year life starts. We just replaced ours. It was easy.
- Question : What are the dimensions?Answer : The following dimensions are for the back of the case, that fits into the wall. The width is 3-5/16 inches. The height is 3-1/2 inches. The mounting hole can be slightly larger. The outer trim that snaps on the front is, 4-11/16 inches Square.
