No. You will have to buy ronsonol lighter fluid for it.

If you search the web for `tsa lighter`, the first results from the TSA-dot-gov website say 'yes' for carry-on, 'yes (but)' for checked. Don't know what other people are getting, I got exactly what I ordered.

In my opinion, brass is better. Steel probably is more durable, but, for the brass model, a daily use gives wonderful 'signs of time'.

Can you fit a Thunderbird insert on this? Can you put a patina on this? Is this clear coated?

I put a Thunderbird in mine, but because it fit loosely in the Armor model, I needed to put aluminum tape on the plastic 'rails' of the thunderbird for extra friction. I don't think there was a clearcoat at all on my brass Armor, but it's gotten patina and been polished many times over the years - if there was any, there's none left now.

Does it have lighter fluid in it?

All lighters come dry - without fluid. Safety reasons.

Is the insert brass too? Is this a solid brass case and insert?

Yes, the insert is brass as well.

Does it come with gas or is it empty inside?

It is empty and it runs off of lighter fluid, not gas. Zippo sells its own lighter fluid just for Zippos.
