The Sony STR-AN1000 7.2 CH Surround Sound Home Theater 8K A/V Receiver is the first updated release from Sony in five years, it has Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Digital Cinema Auto Calibration IX, Bluetooth, WiFi, Google Chromecast, Spotify connect, Apple AirPlay, HDMI 2.1. One review finds that it goes into power protection mode and shuts down when the volume reaches 6.1. Another review complains that the receiver struggles to handle streamed music which causes a slight pause between tracks, and sometimes the next track does not play at all. It also appears that the receiver does not respond well to Sonos and that it gets very hot. On the positive side, the receiver has an on-screen menu to choose between devices, and it has two HDMI outputs.
