The motion sensor activates a water jet whenever it detects motion within a 30' radius and 120° angle.

It works for cats, dogs, squirrels, skunks, deer, wild animals, birds, or coyote deterrent.

Does it shoot to a preset direction or it will rotate to the direction where the motion was detected?

It adjust the same as a rain bird. You can have it rotate in a 360 circle by lifting up the stop spring. Or in a specific area by lowering it between the two stops brackets but it will not know where the offender is and shoot a jet at that spot. Lord knows I wish.

The water birds lounge on our pool deck in front of the sensor and it only shoots at people. How do set it to spray the birds?

There is an adjustment that the manual says determines the distance but at the same time it adjusts the spray.

Can I have the jet shoots for more than 5 seconds?

No. There’s no setting to make it shoot longer.

I need to put on roof. Can it be installed for roof?

Well I just don't know it comes with a sand Spike so it would be difficult and trying to get hose to it would be a problem

After 1 year of working perfectly, the sensor is now not working. Any suggestions other than replace?

I just bought one of these units. I know that they are supposed to be solar powered but I would put in a new battery first. I have an original Scarecrow and it has worked flawlessly for at least five years. It appears to be better quality. Thought I saved a few bucks on this one one but you get what you pay for.

How does it squirt water from the back of the sprinkler looking at picture?

The picture is wrong. The way it is in the picture, the water would shoot the other way. and it does come out near the top, just under the black part.

What adapter do I use for my hose? I bought one from Lowe’s but the female end hole is too small

Not sure what you bought at Lowe’s, but this hooked directly to my garden hose.

How far does the water shoot?

Shoots pretty far, if the hose in on all the way. Like 30 feet

Not a female inlet, so what kind of fitting or coupler do I need to attach a standard hose?

Garden hose male end if you unscrew the provided adapter, or push a hose with no end fitting onto the provided adapter and secure with a hose clamp.
