No, just add a Gelid Extreme 1mm thermal pad to the side with the modules. I did this before putting the shield back on. The thermal pad helped hold the shield in place. If you can tape the shield back on, I would. I believe it serves to deter electromagnetic interference but is not really an essential part.

What key is this SSD?

It is M key type SSD using the 2280 form factor.

Is this SSD double-sided? I was under the impression the Steam Deck couldn't use double-sided drives without modification.

It's not double-sided and fits the Steam Deck as advertised.

Will the Rocket 2230 NVMe 4.0 1TB work in a Dell Inspiron 16 7000 (7620) 2-in-1?

The manual to that model shows a 2230 should work. Just make sure you look up if you NEED a gen 4, some PCs won't get the benefits of gen4's and then you are paying for speeds you will never see. I would honestly suggest getting a Gen3 as it's just cheaper and if it's just an everyday use PC and not working with software of any kind besides say email and web, you don't need Gen4. Also, the manual to your model shows you can use a 2280 M.2 drive as well, and they are MUCH cheaper than the 2230's drives but you would need to reinstall Windows which is free and very easy. You can even look up your Windows key in Windows in case you feel the need to write it down, but it should be connected to whatever Microsoft account you logged into.

512GB is available in my shipping address (Philippines), but not 1TB. Why is that?

It might just be out of stock for that area. If you have the patience to wait, it might come back in stock. Can't tell you for sure though.
