The COVIDIEN Covidien 7540 Telfa Adhesive Island Dressing is a convenient, all-in-one dressing that provides protection from the external environment. The soft, nonwoven backing conforms around wounds and seals on all four sides, while the non-adherent TELFA won't disrupt healing tissue. The pad of the dressing is approximately 2" x 3.25", which some customers have found to be smaller than expected. However, it is still suitable for covering incisions and wounds that are not too large. The adhesive is on one side of the pad, and it comes with a peel-away paper for easy, sterile application. While the dressing is not waterproof, it is ideal for lightly draining wounds and can be used as a secure dressing for central and peripheral IV sites.
