Question : How wide is the hole where the carabiner goes in?
Answer : It will fit the width of any standard sized snap link, BUT the larger the carabiner the better because smaller ones can't be rotated around the thickness of the holes neck. So, it must be a larger version. Go to Lowe's or Home Depot & get the 'oversized' snap links (as I did) so that it spins freely around the circumference of the whole ring hole.
Question : What are the uses of the 2 small handles? Tricep push downs?
Answer : A closet grip will add thickness to your back when doing pulldowns, pull ups, and rows. A wider grip will focus more on the width of your back. None of these handles are the best for triceps push downs. All are intended for back exercises.

Question : Do these target lats better than the traditional lat bar attachment?
Answer : I would say yes and no. As a former bodybuilder, you will lose the ability to use straps if you want to go heavy as I often did with a traditional pulldown bar when I was competing. But on the flip side, the handles are much more comfortable and 'ergonomic' than say a 28mm handle or lat pulldown bar. The rubber is also quite easy to grip even when sweaty. But for heavy sets, if that's your thing, you will tax your grip more.
