    Answer : Its better to get it to long. It will still work with the extra length. But you do have to take the old 1 off before installing new one. Remove it and measure it or YouTube might have a video. I have a leather sectional I turn it up side down and unhook cable then 2 screws hold the top where pull is at. Hope this help

    Answer : Are you talking about the exposed cable length? There is a 3.25" sometimes. Most of the time the rest of the cable can be hidden in the couch/recliner.

    Answer : Best way to tell is to look at the broken cable, measure it, and compare it to the product pictures. It can be a pain to get the original cable exposed to where you can measure it, but probably necessary, since there are different lengths available. These were a bit longer than my original, but changing the run of cable just a bit solved that. Good Luck!

    Answer : Ours is an Ashley Furnicher look like need little bit longer Handel because this one to short and it’s gos beetwin two sofas seats. But it is work for me. If any new people come in home then they didn’t find because to short.

    Answer : My guess is yes. Your spring may be missing. You could also remove the spring from the new cable, however the cable with the spring should work.
