At $0.2 kwhAnswer : The cooker uses 450 watts per hour, max. 2 times a day would equal 900 watts used on average. 900 watts times 30 days = 27,000 watts used for a month. 27,000 watts = 27 kWh at your rate of .20 cents per kWh = $5.40 per month to cook approx. 180 cups of rice or $.03 cents to cook 1 cup of rice!

Jasmine rice can still be cooked in a model without a pre-configured Jasmine rice menu setting with the advised rice to water ratio. Zojirushi NS-LGC05XB Rice Cookers Editorial Review
The Zojirushi rice cooker has been positively received by its users for cooking rice perfectly, having a better texture and being easy to clean. Some of the reviewers stated that it takes an hour to cook rice which is seen as the only flaw. Most of the reviewers were happy with the quality of the rice it produces, its heaviness and its non-stick coated pot. It works well with steel cut oatmeal as well. Some of the reviewers complained about its high price, small size and material as it has lots of plastic involved in its construction. There are some design flaws but overall it makes perfect rice.
