- Question : Is it OK to wet the leather strap?Answer : I wear mine kayaking, canoeing, swimming, etc. It gets a bit slimy when wet so I usually take it off to dry afterward. It will not do the leather any favors but I still make it last for a couple of years. I then buy a new leather watch band when it gets too worn.
- Question : How many holes are in the strap?Answer : There are eight (8) holes in the strap.
- Question : Does it tick loudly?Answer : Moderate to loud tick. I have some hearing loss and can still hear it, so it can't be too quiet! Out of the four watches I own, all different ones, this is next to the loudest.
- Question : Is the crystal acrylic or mineral?Answer : Mine is mineral crystal. I can tell by tapping on it and the sound it makes.
- Question : Can this watch be worn by a woman?Answer : Of course. I think it would look nice on a woman's wrist as well.
- Question : What width size band?Answer : I don't know about the band size, but the diameter of the cases on most all Expeditions is 40mm. That's too large. It looks like an alarm clock on your arm. I returned the one I bought. Having said that, I would like to have one with a case diameter not exceeding 35mm.
- Question : Is this battery operated or windup?Answer : It is battery operated (battery number on the back of the watch case). My original Men's Expedition Watch's battery lasted quite a few years, and kept perfect time.
- Question : What is the replacement battery required, and can it be owner changed?Answer : On the back of the watch, it says the battery is CR2016. Not sure about changing it out yourself. We have only had this a few months and usually take ours in for a replacement battery.
- Question : Where was this watch manufactured?Answer : Some Timex parts and models appear to be made in Mexico. However, I'm not sure where all the components come from. Wherever they're from, it's a pretty solid watch.
- Question : Will the color of the Timex case fade over time?Answer : I have only had this Timex for a month so I can't answer about it. But I have had other Timex watches and I have never seen a face or case fade.
