- Question : Does the Fluvial ClearX treat saltwater or freshwater tanks?Answer : The product is suitable for both saltwater and freshwater tanks.
- Question : Can ClearX be used with other brands of filters or only with Fluval products?Answer : ClearX is suitable for all filtration types and is easy to drop into all clip-ons for internal/external filters, not just Fluval brand ones.
- Question : How often should the ClearX pad be changed?Answer : For best results, change the pad every 2 weeks.
- Question : When do I have to replace them with new ones?Answer : My tank is a Fluval 57L so I follow the instructions, namely replace every two weeks based on a 60L tank.
- Question : Do these do the same job as the Algae Clear sachets that are also produced by Fluval?Answer : Yes, these I use every 2 weeks I use 2 in a large aquarium and I have no phosphate no nitrate and no nitrite. They are a must and I would seriously recommend them to anyone who owns an aquarium. These do exactly what it says on the packet.
- Question : Where does this go in a Fluval U1 or U2 series filter?Answer : Wrapped around the white stones in the top section of the filter.
- Question : Where do you put it in the filter?Answer : You place it on top of the bag of activated carbon in the filter sponge.
- Question : Can I use 2 pads for larger aquariums?Answer : We use 2 in our 123ltre aquarium. We have 2 filters so 1 in each.
- Question : Would this slide inside the sponge filter in a Fluval U1? Will it help with tannins discoloration in a Betta tank?Answer : No, it sits on the top of the sponge.
- Question : What are the ingredients?Answer : It's some kind of resin according to Fluval. You won't get ingredients anywhere, it's a proprietary formula. Hasn't ever harmed my fish or plants and works well.
- Question : How often do these need to be changed?Answer : I change mine every water change.
- Question : These keep floating out of the Edge filter. Is there a special trick to make it stay put?Answer : I have a Tetra tank and there is a special foam filter that I place mine in. Not sure if you have the same but if you do, there is a space that you can use to keep it in place. If not, then I apologize for not being able to assist.
