Had the same problem with line-up. No metal blocking that I could see, Finally ran drill bit thru holes. Biggest problem I had was getting the petals screwed in. Something there wasn't right.

Is the seat shaft a standard size? I want to replace it with one that tips to a better angle (not just adjustable up & down). Have you replaced yours?

I haven't replaced my seat so I don't know if it is standard size or not. I would measure it just to be sure.

Make sure the wires didn’t get pinched when putting the handle bar assembly on. There was a slot for you to put the wires into so they didn’t get pinched. Give that a try.

Does anyone else find the angle of the seat to pedals to cause weird pressure on their legs? Gave me shin splints.

Yes. It feels like a torture device.

What is the measurement of the seat?

Not sure but I’m plus size and it’s nice and wide and comfortable only plus to the bike I would say.
