- Question : Does this come with a wiring diagram so I know what wire is what?Answer : I purchased these connectors when I was installing a JVC radio in my Volvo S80. The kit/wires came with a color decoder that explained the function of each wire by color. Your radio should have a similar decoder that decodes each wire by color. You will need to solder/connect wires with identical functions by mapping the kit colors wires with the appropriate after market radio wire color/function . So for example, if the left speaker is a blue red wire and the kit left speaker wire is green purple, the connect the kit blue/red wire with the green purple wire from the aftermarket radio.

- Question : Does this bypass the factory amp on a 03 s40?Answer : I use this on my s60 and no it does not, there is a separate connector on the back of the Volvo head unit that powers the amp. There is another product you can buy that supposedly allows you to use the factory amp, this did not work well at all. I ended up removing the volvo amp and putting an aftermarket amp in the trunk and running new wires. Alternatively you could use the pre amps built into your aftermarket head unit. but with either option you will need to do some rewiring.
