I have a scope on my AR but switching to iron would be nice.Answer : I am a firm believer in leaving Iron sights alone, on top, and as designed. If you want a scope, red-dot, Photon torpedo launcher, whatever . . . Put it on above or off-set. Batteries die, electronics stop working if the weapon is dropped and so on. Having Iron sights as an afterthought or mounted where they can get smacked and totally out of whack is a very bad thing. This 45 degree offset by TacFire placed my Red-Dot next to my iron sight as if it was designed for the job. I hardly need to move my eye, let alone move the AR. I'm a happy camper.

The TacFire 45 Degree 5 Slots Offset Side Flashlight Laser Picatinny Weaver Rail Mount is a solid rail but with weak screws that can easily break. Some customers have reported that the bolt heads sheared off or the screws broke while tightening. However, others have found it to be a great accessory for their AR with one customer mentioning that it was just what they needed to mount their red dot scope.
