    Answer : Yes, the reversible textured non-slip surface of the mat provides excellent traction, which makes it perfect for hot yoga.

  • Question : Is this mat okay for Bikram yoga?
    Answer : In Bikram yoga you always place a large towel over your mat. Yoga towel or beach towels are best since you'll be sweating a lot. So yes, based on that this mat is good for Bikram.
  • Question : Can you use this mat on carpet?
    Answer : Absolutely! I like putting a towel under mine to keep dog hair or other debris from sticking to it! It will only slide a little, but not enough to mess with your practice. Enjoy!
  • Question : Is the 5mm too thick for balance exercises - I'm very balance challenged.
    Answer : No, it is perfect thickness. I love it.

  • Question : Is this mat good for cardio/ intense training (hiit)?
    Answer : Personally, I don’t think so because it is very light and thin mat and it may hurt your joints to do high intensity work on a thin padded surface. I recommend a yoga mat called Hemingweigh it’s a little pricier but thick and nice (I own one)
  • Question : Where is this made? Is it certified fair trade?
    Answer : This is Made in Taiwan. I just purchased it in Feb 2021. Not sure if it’s certified fair trade or not because no logo mark indication.

The Gaiam Premium Print Yoga Mat is a comfortable and high-quality mat perfect for people who prefer to align their yoga practices with their personal style. It is latex-free, and the thickness of 6mm makes it perfect for balance exercises and Bikram yoga. If you plan to use it for intense training or cardio, it's not recommended because it's quite light and may hurt your joints. The design of a moon phase is beautifully printed on the mat, making it more aesthetically pleasing. However, airing out the mat for several days is required when new as it has an industrial manufacturing smell.
