    Customer Questions & Answers

    • Question : How should I apply Abreva Docosanol 10 Percent Cream Cold Sore Treatment?
Answer : Abreva should be applied directly to the cold sore at the first sign of symptoms (tingling, itching, burning, or swelling) and then five times daily until healed.
    • Question : Is Abreva suitable for children?
Answer : Abreva can be used by adults and children 12 years and older.
    • Question : Is Abreva safe to use with other medications?
Answer : It is important to consult with a healthcare professional before using Abreva with other medications.
    • Question : Is there supposed to be a safety seal on this product?
Answer : Not on the pump itself. The screw cap one does where you flip the cap and push it into top and break seal. But the Abreva pump pictured only should be in an unbroken package and no safety seal on pump itself. Hope this helps. All my best-J
    • Question : Do you need to fully depress the pump to get the product out or can you slowly press it and stop until you get what you need?
Answer : 4/2021 - nothing comes out until pump is fully depressed; I am wasting a TON of product. Will not buy pump again.
    • Question : What’s current expiration date if I order today?
Answer : All of our dates are 1 year or better! EJ Sears Enterpriz
    • Question : Is it the same product in the pump vs the tube?
Answer : I felt it was different. It took longer for my cold sore to disappear. The tube for me took 2 maybe 3 days. The pump took about a week. It was also a bit thin compared to the tube.
    • Question : What is the expiration dates if I order today?
Answer : If you buy from Welness OTC, our expiration is 3/2020.
    • Question : Why are you selling products out of date 1/20?
Answer : I don’t know where you got that date but even if it says 1/20 that’s not expired . Today’s date is 4/ 25/ 2019.

Abreva B00E4MMWTC Cold & Flu Relief Editorial Review

Abreva is a popular product for treating fever blisters and cold sores. The product is available in two forms: a tube and a pump. The pump does not have a safety seal on it, but the screw cap one does where you flip the cap and push it into the top and break the seal. According to customer reviews, the pump doesn't work well, and some people found it challenging to control how much product is dispensed. They suggested that the tube option is better and lasts longer. The product is effective, and it works quickly on stubborn cold sores.

    Pros

    • -Effective for treating cold sores and fever blisters -Works quickly -Product's expiration date is one year or better

    Cons

    • -Pump doesn't work well -Some people found it challenging to control how much product is dispensed -Pricier than other options
