    Answer : It can be safely used on a glass-surface range as long as the bottom area that sits on the burner does not go past the ring on the stove. It is recommended not to have more than 50lbs (including the 12lb canner) on the burner.

    Answer : There is a gauge in the middle and a button at the front. When the steam starts coming out of the hole where the weight goes, you time it for 10 minutes. Then put the weight on and the pressure starts to build up. Once the pressure gauge reads 10, you lower the heat on the stove to keep the pressure steady at 10 and start to time.
