- Question : Are Sunbum products 'reef safe'?Answer : Until 01Jan2023, this sunscreen falls within Hawaii's rules regarding 'reef safe sunscreen' as currently only oxybenzone and octinoxate are banned, and neither of those two chemicals are in this formula. However, 01 January 2023 Avobenzone and Octocrylene will also be banned, and these ingredients are included in this products formulation.
- Question : Would you recommend this for facial use on sensitive or acne-prone skin?Answer : I have sensitive but non-acne prone skin and I do great with this.
- Question : Is this Non-nano?Answer : Octocrylene is included and I believe non-nano. That is an ingredient that the USVI does not recommend.
- Question : Is Sun Bum non-comedogenic?Answer : Yes.
- Question : Does this rub in well or stay white?Answer : Our Original Sunscreen will rub in evenly on the skin and leave you with non-greasy, non-ghostly, yummy smelling protection.
- Question : What are the ingredients?Answer : I don't know but can tell you this is a great product. Not at all greasy, sticky, or shiny. And, no white film residue. It goes on like a moisturizer and works great. It is long lasting and very effective.
- Question : How does it hold up in the heat? Will it get watery?Answer : I've used it in Hawaii at 80 degrees F and never had any issues with it getting watery. It has held up well.
- Question : Is this product good for tattoos?Answer : I have been told the Cool Down works well to brighten tattoos.
- Question : Does this stain clothes?Answer : I have put some on my neck below my hairline, and it has stained my collars with a yellow tinge. I am not sure as to why this has happened, but my wife uses clorox on white clothes, and I primarily wear old white shirts when I'm working in the heat, and they remained stained even after she washed.
- Question : Does this protect from UVA and UVB rays?Answer : Yes, Sun Bum protects against both UVA and UVB rays. Parasol 1789 also offers a broader coverage.
