iridium Iridium GO Mobile Broadband Devices Editorial Review
The Iridium GO! is a device that provides voice and messaging through a smartphone as well as limited internet for email and weather. It has good coverage but there are limitations such as the need to be outside for a reliable signal and slow data speeds. The device can be connected to an external mast-mounted antenna on a sailboat. Customers can subscribe to a prepaid or monthly plan. The manufacturing country of the device is China. A customer who used the device for sailing praised Predict Wind's customer service and support. However, another customer had difficulty with the device connecting to satellites despite being outside. Another customer found it useful for remote parts of Puerto Rico but had trouble with the device registering with satellites. Another customer bought it for a specific use and has not used it yet, while another customer's son loves the device though the email app was not successful for one customer.
