The thick water-soluble lubricant can be used to prevent galling and corrosion on brake pads, pistons, contact areas, and retainers where pads slide in the caliper. Other potential uses include using it sparingly on spark plugs, glow plugs, and car water pumps instead of silicone grease. However, some manufacturers advise against using anti-seize on modern plugs that have coatings to prevent corrosion. Though the lubricant is an option to prevent an oil filter cap from becoming difficult to remove, one should avoid using it for that purpose.
