What is the difference between r5s and r4s?

The R5S is fully upgraded and has eMMC storage built-in, an M.2 NVME solid-state drive interface, 2 USB 3.0 ports, and supports USB C port PD fast charging power supply. You can boot without an SD card. It is an excellent tool for portable storage and processing for photo and video enthusiasts.

We recommend using the official standard firmware. The supported OS are FriendlyWrt 22.03 (64-bit), Debian Buster Desktop (64-bit), FriendlyCore Focal Lite (Base on Ubuntu 20.04), and the Kernel Version is Linux-5.10-LTS, U-boot-2017.09

How to program the system to eMMC?

You can write the system on the web. Start the NanoPi-R5S with the TF card with the FriendlyWrt firmware programmed, log in to the FriendlyWrt page, click System -> eMMC Flash Assistant on the webpage menu to enter the eMMC Flash Assistant interface. Click the Select File button on the interface, select the file you want to flash (official firmware starts with rk3568-sd), you can also choose third-party firmware. The file supports compressed files in .gz format or raw format with .img extension.
