The vacuum has not damaged any carpets, and it is an authentic Dyson product. It works on 120/60 Hz and has a plugin voltage of 110. The vacuum has a wide suction portion of around 11 inches, and the amperage is 12 amp. It is a heavy machine and difficult to use on stairs; however, it picks up larger hay pieces and can remove cat hair from rugs and carpets. Some reviewers found the vacuum to be too heavy to push, especially on rugs, and struggled to use the attachments, while others loved the improved suction power compared to older models.
