Oxygen in the air is what turns butter rancid, and this dish, with its silicone seals, keeps your butter sealed off from atmospheric oxygen (except for the little bit that is trapped inside when you close it).
- Question : Mind doesn't have the hash marks and the lid doesn't fit tight at all. It says ProgressiveAnswer : Mine has a tight fit. I can hold it by the top and the bottom stays attached. There are measuring hash marks on mine.
