No, the Dremel 4486 Keyless chuck is not compatible with the 9100-21 Forti-Flex tool. The hand piece that comes with the 9100-21 Dremel Forti-Flex has a chuck on it that accommodates shank sizes from 0-5/32" shanks.

Are there any other attachments that are more kindly to hold in hand?

It is pretty precise and intricate engraving is possible with the Dremel 9100-21 Forti-Flex. A dentist could probably safely use this. If you have the right bits, you can do anything.
