- Question : Is the inside stainless steel?Answer : It appears to be stainless steel to me. I have had mine since September 2019 and it looks as good as it did the day I got it. It works great. I purchased the electric kettle because a friend has one and has used hers for years. Because I don't typically use it every day I usually dry the inside when I am finished using it to ensure that there is no moisture that might cause damage over time but I don't think that's really necessary.
- Question : Is the inside of the lid (that comes in contact with water) also BPA free?Answer : The inside of the lid actually does not come in contact with the water. It is never filled up that high.
- Question : How long is the power cord?Answer : 36 inches, 3 feet, about 91 cm (0.91m) if you use the proper measurement units. This is from the base to wire end of the plug.
- Question : How many watts does his use ?Answer : The Breville® BKE700 Soft Top® Pure can utilize up to 1500 watts.
- Question : Does it beep? If so, when? Is the underside of the lid plastic or metal?Answer : Mine doesn't beep. You can hear a little click when it turns off after boiling if you're close by. Most of the inside of the lid is plastic.
- Question : Can you heat milk in this?Answer : I’ve not tried it but I would not recommend it. The milk will probably stick to the heating elements in the kettle.

The Breville BKE700BSS Soft Top Pure Countertop Electric Kettle has been highly recommended by customers for its beautiful style and fast tea preparation. It has a 36-inch power cord and can utilize up to 1500 watts of power. The inside of the kettle is stainless steel and BPA-free. The lid does not come in contact with the water. It does not have a beep but clicks off when boiling, and the inside of the lid is mostly plastic. While some customers have had issues with the poor quality of the auto cut-off switch, others have used this model for over 15 years with heavy daily use.
