Question : How much would I spend on lettuce and herbs to justify a $1500 expense?
Answer : With all the options and possibilities of growing various fruits and vegetables, it’s quite possible that you’d cover the cost in a year or so. Also consider that you’re eating home grown fresh food without any chemicals. With an average weekly expense of $26 per family for all the produce eaten, it’s a wash after all the discounts. And then you continue to use this for years to come while the cost of produce continues to grow.
Question : Does this Hydroponic Growing System have fans for air circulation to help prevent mold?
Answer : No the system does not have fans for circulation. The water can be placed on a timer, to which the flow of continuous water movement does help to prevent mold. Do keep in mind, all systems do need maintenance cleaning. (I do it seasonal)
