Looking to purchase for an elderly person who tends to need lighter winter boots.Answer : These boots are specialised for working in deep cold conditions. I do not recommend these boots for casual wear by the elderly. These boots contain metal supports and if/when the internal fabric becomes worn through, the metal supports can cause injury to the legs and feet, if proper repair to the boot is not maintained. I suggest looking for a casual boot, to meet your needs.
- Question : Can I tuck my pants in this boot? I don't want the neck to be tight at all.Answer : I usually do. There is room around my leg, however I wear a lot of skinny jeans.
- Question : Are they good for standing 14 hrs a day?Answer : They are very good for standing and working in an upright position for long stretches, as long as they have suffered no damage. The boots contain a metallic strut in the rear, so if the strut becomes exposed the boots will no longer be comfortable and may cause injury. In my experience, the boots did not reach that level of wear and tear until after 4 months of near constant use; I believe these boots would be quite sufficient for a normal workload where the boots are not worn constantly throughout the day, on and off work. I hope this response proves helpful.
- Question : I usually wear a size 12.5 or 13 depending on the shoe. I notice they don't have half sizes. Any recommendations on what size to order?Answer : I have size 14, but 13.5 fits good. I ordered the 14 so I can wear heavy socks for winter!
- Question : Do you have wide sizes?Answer : I do not know the size width options. I wear a liner and wool sock for warmth and to keep feet dry. No problem with width.
