    Answer : Pour in half of 16.9 oz. bottle upon set up, On the 8th day ,pour the rest in. It is recommended to dose the tank when new arrivals are added.
  • Question : What size bottle is recommended for a 6 gallon tank?
    Answer : For a six-gallon tank you can add three to 4 full caps of the 8.4 oz bottle to get a good amount of bacteria in there to start the cycle.
  • Question : What size do I need for a 40 gallon breeder tank?
    Answer : The directions state 25 ml per 10 gallons on day 1 (100 ml) and then 10 ml per 10 gallons on day 2 and 3 (40 ml per day) so a total of 180 ml is recommended for your 40 gallon breeder. I do a sustainment treatment every week of 5 ml per 10 gallons (another 20 ml).

    Answer : It took almost 8 weeks for the tank to cycle. Once the tank cycles, it should be at 0 for Amonia levels. Then you can get fish you want to keep.

    Answer : Nitrifying bacteria will die at 120 degrees F (49 degrees C), the optimum growth temperature is 77-86 degrees F (25-30 degrees C).

    Answer : The recommended dosage is 100mls; 10 ml per gallon of water. Double the dose the first day.

    Answer : It eliminates ammonia and nitrite from the water, which is harmful to fresh water fish. Prevents fish loss. The "fish expert" at the pet store recommends always adding this when doing a partial water change or adding more water to the tank or when first setting up a tank.
  • Question : Do I need to turn off the UV sterilizer when adding this to an established tank? The bio balance was disrupted due to medication. How long should the?
    Answer : Turn off the UVA/UVB sterilizer 24 to 48 hours after use. It will kill the good bacteria in your tank and filter.
  • Question : Is the bacteria visible with the naked eye?
    Answer : No! Beneficial bacteria can not be seen without the aid of a microscope.
  • Question : Will this work on a bare tank?
    Answer : Yes! It helps boost the cycle to get it going. You will still need a source of ammonia for the bacteria to break down however. You would either have to induce ammonia in chemical form or fish food to help keep the process going.

Fluval Cycle Biological Enhancer is a highly recommended aquarium water treatment which provides nitrifying bacteria to help keep your fish healthy. It accelerates aquarium cycling, clears ammonia and nitrite, and promotes beneficial nitrate-reducing bacteria colonization. It comes in 3 sizes. Overall customer experiences seem positive. Customers found it easy to use, and the instructions were clear and helpful. The product seemed to work faster and more effectively to cycle water than without it, and fish stay healthy. The nitrates were cleared and the ecosystem created quickly. A few customers found the instructions hard to read due to small print.
