NO! There is a Marine Quick Start and a Freshwater Quick Start for a reason. Marine beneficial bacteria will die in freshwater and Freshwater beneficial bacteria will die in marine water.

Why is my nirates level still high

Nitrates are the end product in the nitrogen cycle. High nitrates can be a symptom of overfeeding. If water changes don't lower nitrate levels, your water could already have high nitrate levels. You could test your tap water to be sure.

What is the expiration date? How long does it keep?

The product has a shelf life of 18 months from the date stamped on the back of the bottle.

Do i have to remove filter socks or turn off skimmer after adding?

It is recommended to add the product as directly to the filter as possible and avoid any media that may block it from getting through. The skimmer should be turned off for an hour or so after using this to allow maximum filtration through the media.

If Quickstart freezes, will it still work? I have been told yes and no.

It will still work. Bacteria can freeze in nature as well. It has been tested after freezing and works perfectly.

I added this to my tank and my test kit showed the reading of .25 nitrites, this continued for two days but now the nitrite level is zero again?

Your tank is being biologically established, but if still using chemicals to control Nitrate/Nitrite, then it's not completely established yet. Keep checking every other day.

Can I use this when starting up a new koi pond?

Yes, you can use this product when starting a pond or aquarium.
