    EltaMD UV Daily SPF 40 Sunscreen is a good product for those with dry, normal, or combination skin. The product is lightweight and after application, it is neither clear nor “white” but has a natural and light skin-tone color. The product is not tinted and is not only zinc oxide but also contains octinoxate, a sunscreen that has been banned in Hawaii due to its damaging effects to coral reefs. Therefore, anyone with melasma is warned to avoid using this product since the chemical portion of the product may absorb UV rays and convert them to heat, which may aggravate the melasma. On the other hand, if you have fair skin with freckles, this product can prevent all tanning and burning of your skin. However, if you are sensitive to lactic acid that can dry/irritate your skin, you may want to avoid using the UV clear spf 46 which contains B3 and lactic acid.
