- Question : What Is The Suction Power?Answer : In reference to what? Rumford baking powder is sealed under pressure to prevent any moisture from getting into the container so that the contents will not activate before using. Once opened reseal the container by putting the lid back on right away.
- Question : Just received this and corn starch is now listed as the first ingredient. Will that change this product?Answer : It's perfect. Use as directed in your recipes.
- Question : What will this product do if added to my peanut butter based cookies?Answer : The same thing regular baking powder will do? I'm not sure of the question. I have used this in baked goods that involve peanut butter with no untoward effects.
- Question : Why doesRumpford no longer publisj cook books?Answer : I didn't know they did
- Question : Do all baking powders need to have corn starch?Answer : Corn starch keeps the two active ingredients (for Rumford, that would be monocalcium phosphate and sodium bicarbonate) from prematurely reacting in the can. Without the corn starch, the powders would mix and when combined with moisture or heat in the air, it would cause a reaction in the can. If this happens, the baking powder will turn into chunks of powder and will not release the carbon dioxide needed to leaven baked goods.
- Question : Can I Use This In The Dishwasher?Answer : You mean for cleaning? Everything I see online about cleaning your dishwasher with powder is talking about baking SODA, not baking powder. Just google it.
