The Hamilton Beach Electric Tea Kettle features easy to use controls, including several temperature options and a Keep Warm feature. There are some concerns about the automatic shut off and boil settings, particularly at high altitudes. The interior of the kettle is stainless steel, but parts of the base, water level indicator and buttons are made from plastic. A large button on top of the handle springs the top open to prevent steam burns. The kettle includes a mesh screen near the spout, which may make cleaning difficult. Some customers have experienced durability issues with the kettle, such as malfunctioning controls, leaks or failure to operate completely after a short period of time. The product is energy efficient, however, and may make an excellent choice for some tea drinkers.
