No, the resist is very liquid and will soak into the paper. You could try using a colorless wax crayon or plain candle wax.

Does this work on cotton?

It worked beautifully on silk and on the art paper underneath. I think it should work on cotton fabric too, but have not tried it yet.

Can I use for screen printing a resist image?

This will screen print and you can use it as a resist image. It works great using indigo dye because you just need to dip it like with our Indigo tie Dye kit. If apply dye like tie dye with squirt bottles that also works well as long as it is not super drenched.

Is this product Liquid enough to spray?

No, it's fairly thick and can be diluted slightly with water but if it's thinned too much, you'll lose it's ability to resist the dye.

Does this work as well as wax when attempting a batik effect?

Since it does wash out....I am assuming that it will.

I bought this two years ago, i haven’t opened it til now. Is it still good?

Yes. As long as it is still liquid.

Jacquard JAC2880 Paints Editorial Review

The Removable Water-Based Resist is a liquid that goes on transparent and is used to draw the borders of an image in silk to stop the flow of dye at resist lines. It is perfect for painting on silk, and it can also be used with screen-printing techniques. The masking fluid is an excellent substitute if applied on a heavy paper of 140 or 300 weight. It creates a solid resist barrier, does not soak into paper fibers, and peels off when you’re done. The Resist goes on smoothly, can be applied in a fine line using a squeeze bottle and metal tube tip. While it takes a while to dry, it makes excellent lines that don’t penetrate with dye, even if you get it on the resist lines. It’s easy to remove, even after steaming, as it rubs off in cold water with a little silk detergent.
