I followed all set up instructions and am using my burner for the first time. The area where the hose connects to the burner keeps catching on fire.

I Teflon taped that area. This thing is cheap so it will back burn so be careful. I always turn the gas off valve then hose then tank

Can this be adapted for natural gas use by replacing a jet or orifice?

There is an adjuster on the hose, not the burner itself.

Though I can't speak for the manufacturer, it's highly unlikely that they will sell you individual parts. However, you can bronze weld cast iron. or in the case of something as simple as a leg, you could use an epoxy putty and some heavy wire hidden underneath to bridge the crack. The surface must be scrubbed with solvent first, (acetone, toluene, xylene etc) then cut and bend the wires, then completely encapsulate them with the epoxy. JB Weld SteelStik is good for 300F. the legs don't get anywhere near that, I just checked.

what is the BTU for this stove

You have to get several parts to connect it to any kind of propane tank and the tank has to be far enough away to make it work and when I did all of this. everything close to stove leaked. I don't use it.

Will Coleman propane tanks work with this? And do I need to buy the hose and connection to make this work?

Do not recommend the small tanks. Best to use a standard 20# tank. The fitting is a standard 3/8â€� propane flared fitting.

can you use this with a camping propane bottle?

By camping propane bottle, I assume you mean the little green bottles. Yes you can, but you have to purchase an adaptor available at most hardware stores or online. But!!! I would personally buy a more robustly built stove. This was a piece of junk and I've got one I would give you.
