The Google Chromecast is a popular streaming device that allows you to stream shows, music, photos, and sports from your phone to your TV. It comes with an HDMI plug attached to one end, and the other end is a USB-C port for powering the device. You can plug in a USB-C cable with a USB-A connector on the other end to power the Chromecast, or use the power adapter that comes with newer models. Using the Chromecast is easy once it’s set up. You only need the Google Home app to initially set up the Chromecast. After that, you don't really need to use the app to cast to the device. You can cast directly from a website/internet or from most TV apps on your phone, tablet or laptop. Google Chrome on your computer has a cast option you can use to stream to the device. The Chromecast works well with different devices, as long as they support the casting requirements. Unfortunately, you can't stream from the same device that’s providing the hotspot. You will need a different device connected to that Wi-Fi hotspot to control the stream. Overall, the Chromecast is a great device for those who want to stream their favorite shows, music, and sports on their TV. It works well with most TVs and has a reasonable price point. However, it does have its limitations when it comes to live TV and streaming apps.
