With a compact design and optional small size, you are able to place Water Leak sensor on the floor of your kitchen, basement, laundry room, or any other flat surface where you would like to monitor for leaks. Suggest to place your sensors near the washing machine, water heater, sinks, or dishwasher.
- INSTANT ALARMS: After Water Leak Sensor setup is successful, the Third Reality APP will push APP and free Email notifications to you and the sensor will sound an alarm when a water leak occurs. - Question : What is the battery life of this sensor?Answer : The sensor has a battery life of up to 3 years.
- Question : What kind of alarms does this sensor have?Answer : The sensor has a 120dB alarm that can be heard even from a distance.
- Question : Can this sensor be monitored through an app?Answer : Yes, the sensor can be monitored through the Third Reality app or 3R-Protect Manager app.
- Question : How do you configure it with Smartthings?Answer : Video could not be loaded.
- Question : What is the correct orientation when placing this?Answer : The holes definitely remain facing up as water is not intended to penetrate the unit. You will notice the small screws on the bottom of the sensor, when water touches those screws it makes a connection that triggers the sensor.
- Question : Can I change the push alert?Answer : No such feature directly with the unit, but you should be able to with your automation platform.
- Question : How long does the siren stay on for?Answer : The siren stays on until the leak is cleared as far as I know (or the battery dies). It works well too.
- Question : I got the motion and contact sensor to work but Alexa cannot find this leak sensor. How do I get my Echo smart hub to discover this?Answer : I have the Samsung smart hub and there was no problem setting it up sorry I was no help.
- Question : Do I need the Third Reality Hub or can I pair it directly to my SmartThings hub?Answer : It works directly with SmartThings but in order to fully link with Alexa you need the hub from what I have been able to set up.
- Question : Is this going to work with SmartThings when it changes to Edge drivers?Answer : As of now, Dec 19, 2022, I have had no problems. However, I did not connect the Groovy IDE, which was supposed to be phased out by now. In fact , the only two other items I used the Groovy IDE, a door sensor and shutoff valve still work fine. I believe they automatically converted over to standard SmartThings drivers some time ago. I now see such items can be added directly through SmartThings.
- Question : What is the maximum operating temperature of this leak detector?Answer : We recommend that the maximum operating temperature does not exceed 40℃.
- Question : How long should the batteries last?Answer : After six months, my garage sensor is at 68 percent and my two indoor sensors are at 77 percent. This is in line with my other Samsung water sensors. It should be noted that my garage temperature during those 6 months has gone from 110 degrees to 30 degrees, which affects battery performance.

The THIRDREALITY Zigbee Water Leak Sensor is a reliable device that alerts you immediately there is a water leak in your home. The device is configured easily with SmartThings and is compatible with other Zigbee HUBs like SmartThings, Aeotec, and Third Reality Hub. The device has two small screws on the bottom, which when touched by water, triggers the sensor. The siren stays on until the leak is cleared, and the maximum operating temperature is 40℃. The batteries can last up to six months, and this depends on the environment's temperature. Some customers found it challenging to connect their device with Alexa, while others noted that the device does not touch the surface, making it sensitive to small puddles.
