LANBON Light Switches Editorial Review
The Lanbon L8 smart switch is available in both the HomeKit and Smart Living versions. The HomeKit version operates in a Wi-Fi network and can support multiple devices based on the Wi-Fi router's performance. However, the Smart Living version works on a Wi-Fi mesh network and can connect up to 200 devices simultaneously without any requirements for a Wi-Fi router's performance. It has 200W rated power for each gang switch and can alter the text of a gang to Hebrew language. The switch does not support dimming functions as it requires a neutral wire. One can control only homekit lights via the homekit version, while smart living versions switches can control other devices the same network. Users can customize the backlight and names for each switch. The smart switch also displays the 24-hour time. However, customers can update the firmware to display the 12-hour AM/PM time. The product review's experiences are mixed. Some customers are happy with the product as it has a user-friendly screen and a great presentation. They are pleased with its customizable backlight and name settings for buttons. However, few customers experienced horrible software that restarts and goes back to factory settings leading to connectivity issues. Further, many customers have issues with dimming function as dimming incandescent bulbs and the product's support failed.
