Customer Questions & Answers

  • Question : What is included in the package?
Answer : The package includes VIVE Pro 2 Headset, 2 Base Station 2.0 and 2 Controller 2.0.
  • Question : What is the resolution of the LCD screens?
    Answer : The combined resolution is 4896 x 2448, delivering 5K clarity.
  • Question : What is the field of view and refresh rate of VIVE Pro 2?
Answer : VIVE Pro 2 has a wide 120 Degree field of view and a 120Hz refresh rate for seamless visuals.
  • Question : I currently have the vive pro. the lighthouses and controllers are identical, correct? should i be purchasing the headset by itself?
Answer : Vive pro 2 headsets are fully compatible with base station 2.0 and controller 2.0 from the vive pro 1, but they are also compatible with the 1.0 base stations and 1.0 controllers as well. So if you have ANY vive equipment it will work with the vive pro 2 headset. We have 5 of them in our VR arcade and they work great.
  • Question : Can it play steam games?
Answer : Yes. In fact the base stations for the valves headset are cross compatib.
  • Question : Does this have finger and eye tracking?
Answer : The Vive Pro Eye, although expensive and always out-of-stock, comes with integrated eye-tracking technology. But the Vive Pro 2 does not.
  • Question : Can one pc run 2 of these?
Answer : No. This HMD is very taxing on your PC. I have a monster setup running 2 high end graphics cards (2080TI) x2 and I would have no chance. Even if this was a low end headset, a PC is just not able to keep up With the graphic workload it would take to run them.
  • Question : Is it compatible with apple computer?
    Answer : Sorry I don’t think so
  • Question : Does the system draw power from the pc, my rig only has a 550 mw power supply and is somehow running a 3070gpu?
Answer : It has its own power supply. It does draw a little power through the usb but not to power the displays so it’s minimal as it is for a keyboard or mouse. You should be fine. That being said, the display cables take a beating and don’t last too long. Be prepared to replace unless you go wireless. But wireless battery only last about 2 hours. Just a heads up.
  • Question : Can a GTX 1660ti run it?
Answer : Go to the HTC website download the test program and it will tell you for sur
  • Question : Can the Vive Pro 2 be used without the sensors? Just the headset?
Answer : I have been able to use it without sensors only for viewing movies/streaming content, as far as games go it seems to not let you play without base station
  • Question : Anybody using the vive headsets for flight simulator x with flyinside? i am interested in the cosmos or pro..
Answer : I do not play MS Flight Sim or FlyInside, but this statement goes for anything related to using the headset; If you have a high-end computer capable of consistently running the Vive Pro 2 at 4896x2448 @ 120 Hz, flight sims and FPS games are a great experience, if you can handle motion sickness.

HTC 99HASZ000-00 Games Editorial Review

The HTC Vive Pro 2 headset is a high-end virtual reality headset that offers a crisp resolution, a small screen door effect, and a high pixel density. It is fully compatible with the base station 2.0 and controller 2.0, and also with the 1.0 versions of the base stations and controllers. However, the headset is not without its problems, including issues with faulty wiring, dead displays, buggy graphics, and unreliable initialisation. The heat produced by the headset is very high and its stock padding is uncomfortable. The microphone is sub-par and its headphones are removable. The displays produce grey instead of black and the sweet spot for image clarity is small. The headset is not ideal for those with larger heads/faces. However, when paired with a compatible computer and played with the best settings, the picture quality is excellent. The Vive Pro 2 is good for those looking for an upgrade from the original Vive or Oculus Rift, but those looking for a comfortable and bug-free VR experience may want to look elsewhere.

Pros

  • Crisp resolution.
  • Small screen door effect.
  • High pixel density.
  • Can be used with base station 2.0 and controller 2.0 or 1.0.

Cons

  • Faulty wiring.
  • Dead displays.
  • Unreliable initialisation.
  • High heat production.
  • Uncomfortable stock padding.
  • Sub-par microphone.
  • Small sweet spot for image clarity.
  • Not ideal for those with larger heads/faces.
