The KitchenAid Dual Platform Digital Kitchen Scale offers a large platform for up to 5000 grams and a smaller platform for up to 500 grams for measuring weight in ounces or pounds. The small platform can technically measure 2.4 grams, as long as the vessel used doesn't max out the platform's weight limit. The device comes calibrated, and the smaller scale can be manually calibrated. One downside is that the user manual does not provide instructions on how to calibrate the larger scale. The device is reliable for measuring small quantities of ingredients, making it great for crafting and baking. However, some indicate that the scale is not very accurate, with some discrepancies in weight measurements. Moreover, the device is delicate and not sealed properly, making it easy for moisture from cleaning or spills to get inside, potentially breaking the scale. The scale is not recommended for heavy use, demanding accuracy, or professional use.
