Question : Can this tire sidewall repair boot be used for both road and mountain bike tires?
Answer : Yes, the TB-2 can be used for both road and mountain bike tires.
Question : Is the adhesive on the boot strong enough to stay in place even under high pressure?
Answer : Yes, the boot has a super strong pressure-sensitive adhesive that keeps it securely in place, even under high pressure.
Question : Is the TB-2 easy to apply?
Answer : Yes, the TB-2 is designed to be fast and easy to apply, making it a convenient solution for on-the-go tire repairs.
Question : Can this be used on the tubes?
Answer : No. The tire boot is a temporary fix for a tire that has sustained a tear or cut. Without it the tire's tube would bubble through the cut when air pressure is put into the tube. It is not designed to be used as a patch for tubes.
Question : Does this have to be stuck on the outside of the tyre or inside of the tire?
Answer : The patch is applied to the inside of the tire between the tire and the tube.
Question : Will this work with tires that have tubes?
Answer : This is specifically _for_ tires that have tubes.
Question : Is the edge of the tapered to prevent tire wear and failure from the sharp edge of the boot?
Answer : The boot is thin enough that it does not need to be tapered.
Question : Can I store this rolled up? Or does it need to remain flat to work correctly?
Answer : I'm not sure it's a good idea because of the fact that one side has an adhesive and rolling it up might compromise both the covering and expose the adhesive to air. You could do that. I assume you take your wallet when you ride; why not put in there along with your credit cards or in the back pocket of your jersey where it can stay flat? (Just a thought.)
Question : Can it be used with a tubeless setup?
Answer : I personally never used them for tubeless tires, but as long as the seal is made inside the tire to the patch, I do not see why not!
Question : For small glass cuts (after removal), I anticipate several during the life of my tire. Is it wise to cut these boots in 1/2 as a tire patch?
Answer : As for your specific question, the smaller you cut them up, the more difficulty they will have in adhering to the tire, and the more distinct of a lump you will get in your ensuing ride. They are narrow enough to fit lengthwise in a 25mm tire, and are not expensive. I would just use one full one at a time. The overhead of monkeying with your tire again is not worth it. On these boots, the glue seems to stay viable for years before use, and indefinitely after use. Great product.
Question : I've had one of these in my seat pack for several years, unused. Does the adhesive have a shelf life?
Answer : I believe the adhesive does not have a shelf life. Also, the adhesive is to help hold the boot in position until the tube is inflated. Once the tube is inflated, the tube will hold the boot in place. Good Luck!
Question : Does anyone know if this will repair a torn waterproof boot? Or would the GP-2 super patch kit work better (or another product)?
Answer : I don't think these will work for that. Tire boots have only enough adhesive to hold their position in place until the tire is pressurized. The inner tube holds it in place. It is only a temporary fix.
