Yes, it works with presta valves. There is a setting for presta and a setting for schrader.

Does this gauge read low enough for Fat bikes 4-7 psi?

It does read in the single digits but no decimals. So, if you're looking to fine tune to 1/2 or 1/4 psi increments, it isn't that precise.

will this work with presta valve with a removeable core, since there slight taller?

Yes, The yellow slider piece adjusts to allow for the longer presta valve.

Brand new gauge, won’t read any pressure, tried it in presta and Schrader valves, got one reading and now it just displays zero. Any ideas why?

Be sure to rotate the one end (end that attaches to the valve) before trying to get a reading.

Can you explain the adjustment mode?

The adjustment mode is to let air out of the tire while reading the pressure so you can get the exact pressure you want.

How big is this? Is it small enough to fit comfortably in a seatpack on a road bike?

Its pretty small, but it might take up most of the seat pack's space.
