What is the highest heart rate it will record?Answer : Kardia has algorithms cleared by the FDA to tell you if your EKG is "Normal" or in "Possible AFib." Kardia is not cleared to communicate any other rhythms, so they label all other arrhythmias like PVCs, PACs, SVTs as "Unclassified." All rhythms below 50 bpm and above 100 bpm, even if they are normal sinus rhythm, are also marked unclassified. If you get an unclassified reading and are concerned, you can send your EKG to your physician to get their interpretation or submit it for a clinician review directly from the app.
- Question : Can this be used by more than one family member?Answer : Yes. One family member will be registered, and the other family member will be a guest. The data from the test will not be saved.
- Question : I bought this and received an AFib reading, but when I sent it in for additional reviewing by a cardiologist I got a normal sinus rhythm report?Answer : The device transfers data to the phone via audio, so it would be interesting to know whether they use frequencies below or above the normal audible range or whether some sort of anti-interference algorithm or encoding is used. Certain levels or types of ambient noise could potentially affect the readings. If you get a reading of possible AFib, do a new recording in a different, quiet location to see if the results are the same.

The device is easy to use and can measure and record your heart rate. If any abnormality is identified, you can forward the picture of ECG recorded by this device to your physician.

What are some instances where you would get a 2-3 percent false AFib reading?Answer : It would be possible to miss atrial flutter readings within the 2-3 percent. The KardiaMobile EKG has received largely positive user reviews, with users reporting the device as accurate and easy to use.
