We have not had any problems with it. The seal is secure and excellent.

How do I get the plastic stopper out of the stem of the bottle?

I had to return my first bottle because the plastic cap was broken. The replacement I soaked the entire bottle in water. I think on the bottom of the decanter, it states what to do to release it.
