    Answer : Yes, you can use it outside as long as it is in a covered area and protected from the elements.

    Answer : Yes, it comes with a drain plug for easy cleaning.

    Answer : The product voltage range is 120V.
  • Question : Is it refrigerated? Can i put a drink in it with no ice being made?
    Answer : It is not a refrigeration unit. It is a free standing ice maker where only ice can be made rapidly. No, it cannot keep anything cool as it needs to be shut off after making the ice.
  • Question : Does this ice maker have to be attached to a faucet or is the water put directly into the machine?
    Answer : Water is poured directly into the ice maker as it has no hookups. There is a fill line inside to show how much water needs to be put in.
  • Question : How do you clean the parts you cant reach? There is mold in the back part under the metal elements
    Answer : Using distilled water prevented mold growth in most cases. If a house has an AC, it would be better. This answer is not particular to this machine.
  • Question : My ice tastes bad. Any suggestions? Like almost a freezer burnt metallic taste
    Answer : Rinse the water compartment thoroughly before using. One or two cycles may be necessary to clean the unit.
  • Question : Is this opal nugett sonic ice
    Answer : No. To get that style, one has to buy an Opal ice maker. All inexpensive ones make hollow tubes of ice.
  • Question : Is this the same ice maker Sam’s Club sells for $89? It looks the same.
    Answer : No. This model is not offered in my Sam’s club.
  • Question : 110v or 220v ?
    Answer : 110V
  • Question : Does it last very long?
    Answer : The previous model lasted for 2.5 years continuously. There is only one issue: after about six months, a loud grating noise started for approximately three seconds each cycle, so nearly every nine minutes unless the basket was full.
  • Question : Does this contain refrigerant? It says compressor cooled but I purchased another ice make that said the same thing and it did contain refrigerant.
    Answer : No. The one purchased earlier was worthless as it made roughly a cup of ice in eight hours, and the cubes began melting almost immediately after dropping.

This ice maker is a standalone unit that doesn't require a water line and can make ice quickly.
