- Non-Bifurcation Motherboard Compatible. PCI Express 3.0 x8 Lane Host adapter powered by ASMedia ASM2824 PCIe 3.0 Switch. It does not rely on PCIe bifurcation supported by CPU, PCH, or motherboard.
- Supports PCIe M-Key M.2 NGFF (NVMe or AHCI) 2280, 2260 and 2242 SSDs such as Samsung SM951/950/960/970, Plextor M6e Series, Kingston HyperX Predator. Not compatible with a 'B' key M.2 PCIe x2 SSD or 'B' key M.2 SATA SSD.
- Compatible with PCIe 3.0 motherboards, and backward compatible with PCIe 2.0 x8 or x16 slots. Works with all workstations or servers with Windows, Linux, and macOS. No driver installation is required.

- Question : Will this work on a motherboard without bifurcation to clone one NVMe drive to another, both secondary drives installed on this card just for cloning?Answer : Yes, PEXM2-130 works without bifurcation motherboards. It shows two drives when install two M.2 NVMe SSDs.
- Question : Is it compatible with a QNAP TS-673 NAS?Answer : We didn't test PEXM2-130 on QNAP TS-673 NAS. But from the manual and specification of TS-673, it should work. Please note that the PCIe slots of TS-673 run at x4 lanes and may not achieve the full performance of PEXM2-130 when two M.2 SSDs are installed.
- Question : What's the difference between PEXM2-130 and PEX8M2E2?Answer : Both PEXM2-130 and PEX8M2E2 serve the same purpose and have the same specs. The only real differences are the current prices and branding, Ableconn vs StarTech.
- Question : Do I need the adapter and two SSD chips installed onto the adapter? I have an early 2009 Mac Pro 5.1.Answer : You can install either one or two M.2 NVMe SSDs to the PEXM2-130 card. It doesn't require two M.2 NVMe SSDs at the same time.
- Question : What is the data rate when used in x16 slot?Answer : It might reach above 2,000 MBps but have not experimented.
- Question : Will the board support a bootable RAID 0 array using (2) Samsung EVO Plus PCIe SSDs on an ASRock H370M-ITX/AC motherboard?Answer : Probably it will on an ASUS 570.
- Question : Will this device work properly in a PCIe x4 slot (physical x16, electrical x4)?Answer : It works fine in the PCIe x4 slot in the Mac Pro 5,1.
