- QUIET & EFFICIENT: The Cascade 20 Mini Power Hang-On Filter quietly delivers crystal clear water throughout the aquarium. This filter is used for tanks up to 7 Gallons in size. The filter pushes water at 20 gallons per hour(GPH), It’s great for Freshwater and Saltwater aquariums.
- ACCOMMODATING: The adjustable flow knob allows for increased or decreased water flow at will, which is extremely helpful during feeding times, or use it as needed. The hang-on design is constructed for safe mounting. With a provided extension piece, the lift tube measures between 5” (min) and 6 1/2” (max).
- EXTREMELY BENEFICIAL: This Cascade filter utilizes disposable, double-sided media cartridges that contain Activated Carbon and Poly Fiber Floss. The included cartridge traps floating particulate matter, removes harmful chemicals and toxins, clears up discolorations, and reduces foul odors from your aquarium’s water. It is recommended to change these disposable filters once a month.
- Pour enough water to completely immerse impeller cover before turning filter on. Never run filter dry.

The Penn-Plax Cascade 20 Power Filter is a mini hang-on filter recommended for freshwater and saltwater setups up to 7 gallons. The filter features quad filtration and adjustable flow control knob. The filter does not come with a pre-filter and the carbon side of the filter should face the tank. It is not suitable for using ceramic and carbon for the filter media. The filter works well when water is put into the box part. The filter is too big for a 1-gallon bowl. The filter is great for a low price, but it only comes with one filter cartridge. The filter is pretty powerful but may require blocking of the flow with some fake plants in a 5-gallon tank. It is an excellent filter for a 10-gallon tank. The filter is used as a water bowl filter for a cat, and it works well with a modification to the input tube. The filter is quiet, easy to use, and clean. The filter cartridges provided have minimal carbon in them and need frequent replacement. The filter is perfect for a 2 1/2 gallon tank. Some users complained about the weak water flow and the filter being dead in less than a year.
