Answer : Yes, you can use the bundled products separately for various fish treatments.
Question : Is KanaPlex safe for invertebrates?
Answer : Yes, KanaPlex is gentle and there is very little danger of overdosing, making it safe for invertebrates.
Question : Is this all safe and effective for ghost cats and ghost knives, corys, loaches, plecos, synodontis decoras?
Answer : These types of fish don't do well with most meds and salt due to being very sensitive to water changes. I would only recommend using these products as a last resort after eliminating all other options. If you need to resort in this medication I would recommend trying half of the normal dose first in a quarantine tank and monitor your fishes' behaviors.
Question : Can these be used in planted tanks?
Answer : Yes, this is safe for saltwater reef tanks and freshwater planted tanks.
Question : How often do we need to change water when we use these meds?
Answer : The medications Kanaplex and Metroplex are fully broken down after 48hrs. Unless there's an ammonia or nitrite spike, or general bad water quality, there's no requirement for water changes.
Question : Can this be used as a preventive medication, like for example quarantine new fish?
Answer : Yes this can be used as a preventative medication. It is more effective in a quarantine tank rather than the main tank from my experience.
Question : Can you use all these together?
Answer : I use the Metroplex and Focus with the Garlic Guard together. I haven’t used the Kanaplex though.
Question : Do we need to remove carbon cartridge when we use these meds?
Answer : Yes! Because the activated Carbon will absorb the medication so you won't get any results! If you have a UV light filter you also should turn the light off when medicating!
Question : Paraguard with Kanaplex?
Answer : It is possible to use KanaPlex in the fish's food and ParaGuard in the water. ParaGuard treats for fungal, bacterial, viral, and parasite infections. KanaPlex only treats fungal and bacterial. If anything, I would start with ParaGuard and see how the fish reacts to the medication. It would be best not to use too many medications at once if you can clear up the issue with one solution.
Question : Can I add Metroplex in water together with epsom salt?
Answer : Just use the Metroplex! Do not add anything else that can change the component of the medication. If you have a UV light filter you should turn the light off. Metroplex is a very good medication against parasites and lesions diseases... I highly recommend Metroplex.
